When I ordered this I assumed that, like the kindle, laptop computers, cellphones, MP3 players, and virtually every other portable electronic device, the batteries would be rechargeable. I was wrong. Although my first inclination was to return this dinosaur, I kept it because it was an improvement over my old book light (less glare). However the bottom of the screen receives little illumination. The need to replace batteries is truly a nuisance!

I was sold on this book light after watching the video demonstration of another reviewer. The Kandle comes with an battery already installed, so you can use it right out of the box. It also comes with two extra batteries, which is very handy. The first thing I noticed was how sturdy and well-made this accessory is.
It clipped well on my nook without denting or scratching the skin I that have on the device. It also holds well on the back cover of paperbacks and hardbacks. I was able to move the arm and head of the light for easy adjusting, but the light was still too bright against my nook, which means that I either won’t use it for long periods or I will have get used to it. But on the paperback and hardback, the light wasn’t nearly as bright and I could read the words from top to bottom.
If you’re looking for a good book light that will last, the Kandle is a great accessory to have, either for travel or for nighttime reading.
